To celebrate the centennial of Benjamin Britten’s birth, we present his operatic masterpiece. Based on the novella of the same name by Henry James, this piece tells the story of two rich children who are isolated on a large estate in Victorian England. A new governess arrives to find the house haunted by two former servants. She fears they have returned to claim the children and soon is battling for their souls and her sanity.
Benjamin Wayne Smith, director; Maestro Dean Williamson, formerly artistic director of Opera Cleveland, leads select members of the BW orchestra and two outstanding young casts.
